Searches up 10%
SEARCH requests from mobile Internet users grew nearly 10 percent from the previous quarter to more than 400 million per day by the end of June, latest statistics showed.
Baidu has the most mobile searches of any company in China in the second quarter, accounting for 34.3 percent of total searches, 5 percentage points higher than the first quarter, the report said.
"Search engines are strengthening cooperation with telecommunication service providers and mobile phone makers to grab users," said Ren Yanghui, an analyst with Internet research firm Analysys International.
Google's share of the mobile searches lost about 5 percentage points to 12.3 percent in the second quarter, falling to the third place behind local mobile search provider Easou.com, Analysys said.
