Seeking to attract 10m users at Snail’s pace
SNAIL, one of the top virtual mobile carriers in China, expects to have 10 million users by the end of 2016 as it taps opportunities arising from the boom in cross-border tourism, the firm said yesterday.
Snail, which has over 6 million users now, offers more than 20 overseas telecommunications services such as global data traffic and other mobile communications services in over 60 countries and regions.
Snail intends to tap overseas expansion and better integration between its mobile and game business to attract 10 million users by the end of this year, said Xu Chongxian, Snail Mobile’s senior marketing director.
China’s online outbound market revenue is set to surge 75 percent year on year to 49.5 billion yuan (US$7.4 billion) this year, said Analysys International.
Virtual carriers offer own-brand mobile services and price packages directly to consumers by purchasing bandwidth from traditional carriers.
