Shenhua, Anelka to promote Firefall
THE9 Limited paid 54 million yuan (US$8.6 million) to the Shanghai Shenhua Football Club and its latest signing, Nicolas Anelka, to promote a new shooting game called Firefall, the Nasdaq-listed firm said yesterday.
Under a two-year agreement with the football club The9 will spend 32 million yuan to promote the Firefall game. Shenhua players will wear jerseys bearing the name and logo of The9's Firefall in all domestic and international soccer games, including the Chinese Super League. Shenhua will also reserve advertisement space for Firefall at its stadium in Hongkou District.
The9 has also signed a one-year US$3.5 million deal with Anelka, who will use his name and voice to promote the online game.
