Smart home tech deal

SWISS automation technology group ABB and Dutch lighting firm Philips yesterday said they will collaborate to tap the rising demand for smart home technologies in China.
The two partners will provide integrated smart home and lighting control solutions to Chinese users by integrating Philips Hue and ABB “i-jia” smart home brands.
They will jointly launch online and offline campaigns to promote the smart home concept and make products and applications for Chinese consumers.
“Advances in the areas of intelligent and connected technologies are driving the development of smart homes and buildings, said PohCheng Gay, head of ABB China Low Voltage Products.
