Sony to sell SmartWatch 2 in October

Sony will sell its long-awaited second smartwatch in China by the end of October to compete with Samsung and probably Apple, Shanghai Daily learned yesterday.
Sony will launch its SmartWatch 2 in October, the company said yesterday, just one day after Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Gear at the IFA electronics show in Berlin. Costing US$175 globally, the SmartWatch2 will give users optional colors, Sony said. The watch features a 1.6-inch color touchscreen, is water-resistant and can remotely control music playing in smartphones.
More than 4 million smartwatches will be sold next year and 41 million units in 2016, according to research data.
