Telecom pacts
SWEDISH wireless equipment maker L.M. Ericsson AB says it has signed deals worth US$1.8 billion with Chinese operators China Mobile and China Unicom.
Ericsson says it signed a US$1 billion agreement yesterday to provide a radio access network and technology to China Mobile, the world's largest telco by subscribers. Ericsson also signed a US$800 million contract to provide a faster, 3G network to China's No. 2 telco, China Unicom. Both contracts will be implemented this year.
