Telecom revenue climbs

CHINA'S telecommunication industry reported 819.03 billion yuan (US$122.98 billion) in main business revenue for the first 11 months of this year, up 6.6 percent year on year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said yesterday.
The ministry's data showed the number of mobile phone users continued to rise as the number of fixed-line subscribers declined.
Mobile telecom revenues accounted for 69.82 percent of the total, 3.12 percentage points more than the previous year, while the fixed-line business took 30.18 percent, down 3.12 percentage points.
