Tencent net up 33%

TENCENT said its first-quarter net profit rose 33 percent year on year to a record 9.2 billion yuan (US$1.4 billion).
Revenue for the period increased 43 percent to 32 billion yuan, it said in a stock exchange filing yesterday. The total included a 34 percent rise in revenue from value-added services, which includes games and messaging, to 25 billion yuan, while ad sales rose 73 percent to 4.7 billion yuan.
