Two new drones unveiled
SHENZHEN-BASED DJI Technology Co unveiled two new drones yesterday to tap growing demand for unmanned flights and aerial photographs.
The Phantom 3 Professional and Phantom 3 Advanced feature professional control, 4K video and 12 megapixel camera and new visual positioning system with improved indoors control without GPS. The two models will begin shipping “in a few weeks” and cost US$1,259 and US$999 respectively.
Drones are becoming popular because they can help monitor public safety, film footage, search disaster areas and deliver products for websites like Alibaba or Amazon, analysts said.
DJI also said it would cooperate with Youku Tudou, China’s biggest online video website, on aerial photography and video integration allowing users to upload video shot by DJI drones on the website in seconds.
