US$1.8b deal

NXP Semiconductors has agreed to sell its radio frequency business to a Beijing-based capital firm for US$1.8 billion, the Holland-based chip designer said yesterday.

Jianguang Asset Management Co, or JAC Capital, will own the RF business for the cellular base station market, industrial lighting and other consumer electronic sectors.

NXP and JAC Capital expect the sale to close in the second half of 2015.
