US$31b for data hubs
DAILY Tech aims to set up 30 large and environment-friendly data centers globally in three to five years at a total cost of 200 billion yuan (US$31 billion) after the Beijing-based information technology firm agreed to cooperate strategically with AVIC Trust yesterday.
The data centers, which will support new technologies in cloud computing and Big Data, are set to drive the company’s revenue and reap a profit of about 40 billion yuan in future, said Li Qiang, general manager of Daily Tech.
Daily Tech is also looking to list on the domestic stock market through an asset swap valued at 2.6 billion yuan with Shanghai-listed Sichuan Golden Summit Group.
