ALIBABA yesterday said it has set up an automobile business unit to service car owners and auto buyers.

It will integrate carmakers, dealerships and car accessory vendors and introduce offline service providers to owners and buyers.

It will tie up with its finance unit for favorable offers for car buyers.

An independent smartphone application focusing on services for individual car owners will be launched within three or four months.
