ZTE Corp Signs deal with S. Africa's Cell C
ZTE Corp, the biggest public telecommunication equipment producer in China, said it signed a US$378 million contract with Cell C (Pty) Ltd, a mobile phone operator in South Africa, to provide it telecom facilities and services.
According to the deal, ZTE will supply network turnkey solutions and operations services to the South African company. The project is expected to be completed in three years, ZTE said in a statement posted on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange yesterday.
ZTE shares decreased 1.05 percent to close at 43.4 yuan (US$6.38), compared with a 0.95 percent drop of the Shenzhen stock index yesterday.
ZTE provides telecom equipment and services to more than 500 telecom operators in over 140 countries. It reaped a profit of 1.19 billion yuan in the first nine months of last year, up 46.13 percent year on year.
