ZTE's 3G deal

ZTE Corp yesterday said it has won a US$85 million contract to build and deploy a 3G network for Indian telecommunications operator Aircel.

According to the deal, ZTE, the country's biggest listed telecom equipment vendor, will build a 3G network and upgrade a 2G network for Aircel in India.

The 3G network will also create a transition toward next generation networks such as LTE (Long Term Evolution).
