ZTE's 4G handset
ZTE Corp, China's second-largest maker of telecommunications equipment, will debut its first 4G handset through China Mobile's Hong Kong unit as early as next week, media reported yesterday. The 4G network provides much faster data services on mobile phones, 20-50 times faster than the current 3G network. With the 4G phone, Shenzhen-based ZTE aims to tap into the high-end phone market. The Chinese mainland won't issue 4G licenses until the end of 2013, the regulator said recently.
