Eaton opens Shanghai technical center

Power management company Eaton boosted its research capability for its vehicle unit in Asia by opening a new technical center in Shanghai today.

The US$3.3 million center will further strengthen Eaton’s ability to work with customers in the development of new engine platforms while supporting the largest passenger and commercial vehicle market in the world.

"We are well positioned to participate in China's massive urbanization and will continue to expand our engineering and manufacturing presence in this important market," Eaton Chairman and CEO Alexander Cutler said in Shanghai.

He also said the diversified US manufacturer is on track to meet its 2015 China sales target of US$2 billion.
