SIEMENS AG opened a US$70 million washing machine factory in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, yesterday to produce energy-efficient washing machines for the domestic market. BSH Home Appliances Co, a joint venture between Siemens and Bosch, will continue to invest about 200 million yuan (US$29.4 million) a year in China at least through 2012, said Roland Gerke, chief executive and president of BSH China.
