Plant expansion

Markem-Imaje, the world’s largest provider of product identification solutions, launched an expansion of its plant in Shanghai yesterday. The new facility will lift production capacity by 80 percent, the company said. Located in Fengxian District, the expanded factory has an annual capacity of more than 15,000 units of continuous ink jet printers. Entering China in 1991, the firm now has a 30-percent share in the country’s marking and coding market.
