Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co yesterday said third-quarter net profit rose 5.2 percent on-year to a record high, but the world’s biggest contract chip maker warned of weaker sales in the coming three months. TSMC said net profit rose to NT$51.95 billion (US$1.77 billion) in July to September. Revenue also hit a record high of NT$162.6 billion, up 15 percent from a year earlier.
