Ad shows off China's soft power
AN advertisement promoting "Made-in-China" products will soon be broadcast to audiences in North America and Europe as part of a global campaign to project the country's soft power and to reverse the global stereotypical view of Chinese products as shoddy, Legal Mirror reported yesterday.
The 30-second commercial funded by the Ministry of Commerce and four industry associations has already debuted on CNN Asia last week and became China's first national ad in an overseas media, according to the newspaper.
The theme of the ad is "Made in China, made with the world" and serves to highlight the cooperation between Chinese and overseas firms in producing high-quality goods. The ad shows products used in daily life that are made in China in cooperation with the world, including running shoes made with American sports technology, an iPod player with software from Silicon Valley, a French-designed fashion label and a European-designed refrigerator.
