China parents prefer traditional media and books over social media in parenthood education

CHINESE parents generally have more trust over traditional media publications or child parenting books rather than online articles or entries on social media platforms, a latest study shows.
As many as 89 percent of respondents acknowledged the role that media played in parenthood education has become more important over the past five years, according to a latest study co-launched by the training and communication center of the National Health and Family Planning Commission and Dutch dairy company Royal FrieslandCampina.
Popular science publications and TV programs are the top two choices among a total of 200 respondents that have children aged between zero and six.
Although more than half of the parents receive information from social media platforms, only 3.5 percent of them consider this information trustworthy and authoritative.
