Internet to see 15% climb in ad spending
INTERNET advertising spending may grow 15.1 percent worldwide next year, with global ad spending up 4.6 percent, according to a latest industry report.
Ad expenditure will grow to around US$524.7 billion in 2013 and Internet spending will jump sharply above average, said ZenithOptimedia, a media buying company under Publicis Groupe, yesterday.
But the forecast was lower from the 4.3 percent annual growth projection which ZenithOptimedia made in June as advertisers cut spending in the eurozone due to economic weakness.
Ad spending in the domestic market will rise by US$11 billion between 2011 and 2014, the second largest growth pace after the US.
The firm projects global ad spending to rise 5.2 percent annually in 2014 after growing by a slower 3.8 percent in 2011 and 2012 from a strong 7.8 percent rise in 2010.
Television may attract the largest ad spending globally at US$220 billion, or 40.3 percent market share, by 2014.
