Media firms eye deals in broadcasting
MORE than 300 organizations from over 30 countries and regions are hopeful that their attendance at the International New Media and Broadcasting Equipment Market Exhibition will result in several deals on the Chinese mainland.
At least 1,000 visitors comprising professional buyers and company executives were at the exhibition, held as part of the 18th Shanghai TV Festival at the Shanghai Exhibition Center, which closed yesterday.
Overseas firms, including Hong Kong's TVB, Japan's NHK and US-based Warner Bros, brought their products to the exhibition to scout for business in the domestic market.
"It's an international stage for all of us to communicate and do business," said Wang Weijiang, chairman of Taiwan's Visual and Audio Protection Association.
Wang led a Taiwan delegation of 20 publishing companies which held talks with Chinese online video streaming websites on possible cooperation.
NHK has talked with CCTV, SMG and top Chinese online video websites about broadcasting new documentary films in China, said Hideaki Sakamoto, a senior NHK executive.
