More reality show to be expected on China's entertainment market: insider

INTERNET-BASED reality and variety shows will continue to flourish in China, insiders told a forum today at the ongoing 2016 Shanghai International Film and TV Festival.
The forum titled "a new ecology of variety show in E-era" gathered the country's major variety show producers who consider the year of 2016 a big year for variety and reality shows.
More investment will be made on talents and technical products, officials said.
Tencent Video has recently announced to set up a fund of 1 billion yuan to develop original contents and support young talented producers for online shows.
Nine online variety shows spanning from fashion and music to family and food will be presented throughout this year on Tencent Video.
A highlight will be "Let Me Go, Baby," in which heartthrobs will team up with cute kids to take on a series of game challenges.
According to Tang Hao, deputy general manager of Shanghai Motion Magic Digital Entertainment Inc, the rising VR technology is also expected to be applied in the production and broadcasting of online shows and activate a new era of entertainment in the future.
