PremierAsia Office new concept business center

AN interview with Benny Wong, general manager of PremierAsia Office.

Q: When was PremierAsia Office started?

A: PremierAsia Office started operations on February 1, 2010.

Q: Is it a new concept of office work management in Shanghai? Is PremierAsia Office the first one to do such business?

A: Our concept for this serviced office is to give our customers a feeling that is close to nature or greenery. In fact, we have two garden features on our 25th floor at The Headquarters Building, which is very unique. On top of that, we also use "green furniture" eco-concept from Haworth for our office system.

Q: Why did you start the company and provide office service?

A: Our parent company, See Hoy Chan Sdn Berhad has diversified business interests in property development, investment, facilities management, car park management, security services, general insurance, trading, engineering and information technology. Our serviced office is an extension of our range of services that we provide to our customers.

Q: What kind of service does PremierAsia Office provide? (By the way, by browsing your official Website, I wonder how you keep the corporate privacy of your clients if managing all the mails for them?)

A: Our clients' information is not put in our Website. We maintain strict confidentiality for our clients. We do not open our clients' mail unless otherwise authorized by them. However, our other affiliate companies' information are on our Website and accessible to customers or visitors to access.

Q: Who are your target clients?

A: Our clients are mainly multi-national companies (MNCs), and new start-up companies investing in China, especially in Shanghai.

Q: How's the business going so far?

A: We have good support from MNCs that we target and some new companies investing in Shanghai. During our soft launch in February 2010, we already have more than 30 percent confirmed customers to date. We hope to achieve 100 percent occupancy rate within six months of operations.

Q: What do you think of the market potential of "virtual office" industry in China, or in Shanghai?

A: "Virtual office" industry will be a growing trend in China as customers understand the business concept of having a mobile or virtual office and using our meeting and boardroom facilities to meet customers in central CBD or downtown office on an as-need basis, thus reducing their cost of doing business and having a permanent office space. Of course, if customers want to come into an office on a more frequent basis, they can always upgrade and rent a serviced office with us.

Q: What's your vision of your company?

A: Our vision is to be profitable and be able to expand very quickly into other Asian regions within the next three years. We also hope to expand our second branch office in Shanghai next year and continue to Beijing and other regions in China.
