5 Shanghai residential projects to begin selling units this weekend
AROUND 400 units at five residential projects in Shanghai will go on sale this weekend, an increase of 90 percent from the same two-day period a week earlier, according to research released today by Soufun.com.
The five apartment developments, four of which are beyond the city's Outer Ring Road, will be sold for an average 21,700 yuan (US$3,444) per square meter, a weekly increase of more than 40 percent, Soufun data showed.
"The upcoming release of around 100 units at a high-end project in New Jiangwan Town, Yangpu District, with a price tag of 45,000 yuan per square meter, has pushed up the average price," said Qu Peng, a Soufun analyst. "However, the other four projects in outlying districts have all opted to offer rather attractive prices."
For instance, a development in Baoshan District is asking for a minimum 8,999 yuan per square meter for its apartments with a size of between 67 and 96 square meters.
