Fewer new homes for sale next month
SHANGHAI'S real estate developers seem to be in a cautious mood, with fewer new homes expected to hit the market in October.
A total of 22 residential projects, 86 percent of which are beyond the city's Outer Ring Road, are due to be released next month, compared to the 55 developments rolling out this month, real estate website Soufun.com said in a report released yesterday. Last October, 31 housing projects were launched, according to Soufun data.
Purchases of new homes, excluding government-subsidized affordable housing, were just 166,000 and 164,000 square meters in Shanghai in the first two weeks of September, Shanghai Deovolente Realty Co said.
Jinshan leads all districts with five projects for sale next month followed by four each in the Pudong New Area and Qingpu.
