THE Beijing city government netted a record 151.7 billion yuan (US$22.8 billion) in land sales so far this year, the municipal bureau of land and resources said yesterday in a statement.
The city sold 252 plots of land this year, the bureau said.
A plot of land in the central business district in east Beijing sold for 6.3 billion yuan on Tuesday, a record high for a plot.
Last year, the city sold 247 plots of land for 92.8 billion yuan.
The city's revenue from land sales was the highest of all 31 provincial areas on the Chinese mainland.
The Chinese government has moved to curb rapid rises in property prices with tough down-payment conditions and lending and purchase restrictions.
