CHINA Vanke Co and Evergrande Real Estate Group continued to lead Chinese developers in new home sales in the first quarter of this year, according to a joint report released yesterday by China Real Estate Information Corp and China Real Estate Appraisal.
Between January and March, Shenzhen-based Vanke realized sales of 32 billion yuan (US$4.88 billion), an increase of 121 percent from the same period a year earlier, while Guangzhou-based Evergrande sold a total of 2.9 million square meters of houses, an on-year rise of 124 percent, remaining to be the country's top sellers in terms of sales value and sales area.
