Sales of pre-owned homes in Shanghai dip for 4th straight month in July

SALES of existing homes continued to decline in Shanghai in July, extending weakness for the fourth consecutive month, latest market data showed today.
The purchases of previously-occupied houses totaled 11,400 units last month, a dip of 0.9 percent from June, according to a report released by Shanghai Deovolente Realty Co. The average cost of a pre-owned home, meanwhile, stood at 20,700 yuan (US$3,339) per square meter, down 0.6 percent from the previous month.
