ARJ21 order totals 308

ICBC Leasing signed a deal with the Commercial Aircraft Corp of China (COMAC) yesterday to buy 30 ARJ21-700, the nation’s first domestically produced regional jets.

Neither side revealed the order’s value.

The new deal brings the total order of the plane to 308.

ICBC Leasing, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, is the largest aircraft leasing company in the country. It has owned and managed more than 420 planes.

Jiang Jianqiang, chairman of the bank, said they support the development of China’s plane manufacturing and civil aviation transport.

In 2011, ICBC Leasing ordered 45 of the nation’s homegrown C919 passenger jets from COMAC.

The ARJ21 — Advanced Regional Jet for the 21st Century — is a regional airliner. The ARJ21-700 was officially certified by the Civil Aviation Administration of China at the end of last year.
