Budget flights

AIR Asia yesterday opened its first route from Shanghai to Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia. There will be six flights a week between the two cities, rising to seven on May 1. Previously, Shanghai passengers had to travel to nearby Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province to catch Air Asia flights. Asia's biggest budget carrier now flies to 14 Chinese cities, including Guangzhou, Tianjin, Hangzhou and Beijing.
