MICHELIN said it has been chosen by Commercial Aircraft Corp of China to develop and supply tires for C919, China's domestically-made commercial jet.
This is the first time that Michelin will provide tires for a Chinese aircraft, the French tire maker said in a statement.
A company spokesman said Michelin will be the sole tire supplier to C919, whose first flight may take place in 2014, with entry into service in 2016.
