Cargo sorting service a boost for logistics companies
Global logistics companies are now allowed to repack cargo on the apron at Pudong International Airport after the launch of China’s first cargo transshipment sorting service yesterday.
Logistics companies can sort cargo after their flights land at the airport and recombine with those heading to the same destination to save resources, said Dong Shuhua, deputy director of Pudong International Airport Customs.
Li Derun, president of the Shanghai Airport Authority, described the sorting service as “a milestone for the airport’s cargo transport development and a pilot policy within the free trade zone.”
