BALTIC Mercantile and Shipping Exchange yesterday launched its shipping freight derivatives trading system center in Pudong New Area yesterday to bolster Shanghai's plan to turn itself into a shipping hub.
The center will facilitate shipping derivatives trading such as freight rate futures. A similar one will be launched in London, the only two centers in the world, according to Pudong government officials.
