CHINA Eastern Airlines set up a branch in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, yesterday to boost its presence in southwest China.
The Shanghai-based carrier will operate 30 aircraft in Chengdu by 2015 and increase flight frequencies between Chengdu and Shanghai this year, it said in an e-mailed statement yesterday.
China Eastern has launched routes linking Chengdu with Jiuzhaigou, Kunming, Lijiang, Lhasa, Linzhi, Sanya, Wenzhou and Kangding.
