Fuel surcharges up

DOMESTIC carriers said they will raise fuel surcharges today after the National Development and Reform Commission raised retail gasoline and diesel prices.

Air China, China Eastern Airlines and other major domestic carriers raised fuel surcharges to 90 yuan (US$13.60) from 70 yuan per person on routes longer than 800 kilometers.

Surcharges for shorter distances were raised to 50 yuan from 40 yuan.
