Orders for C919 increase
THE Commercial Aircraft Corp of China yesterday won a contract to sell 50 C919 jets to CCB Financial Leasing, the wholly-owned leasing unit of China Construction Bank.
The latest order boosts the total orders for the 150-seat Chinese-made aircraft to 330.
The C919, which is leading China's challenge to Boeing Co and Airbus SAS, is due to make its first flight in 2014 and enter service a year later.
The assembly center in Shanghai will be able to deliver the first C919 aircraft, with a flight range of 4,075 kilometers, in 2015, COMAC said.
China is investing 200 billion yuan (US$31.7 billion) in developing its domestic jumbo jet.
