Plane Makers Eye Business Aircraft Market
BOEING plans to deliver three to five business jets in China annually by 2015 as it seeks to tap the huge growth potential of the business jet market in the country, a senior official of the firm said at the Shanghai International Business Aviation Show yesterday.
Boeing will deliver three business jets to Chinese buyers this year, with two going to HNA Capital Airlines and one to the newly-formed Beijing Airlines.
''With the easing in policies and growing number of aircraft management companies, more business jets will be introduced to China,'' said Steve Taylor, president of Boeing Business Jets.
David Dixon, regional vice president of Bombardier Business Aircraft Asia Pacific, predicted that 600 aircraft will be added to China's business jet fleet in the next 10 years and the plane maker will aim to improve its 27-percent market share in the period.
