THROUGHPUT at Shanghai's ports in November surged 22.3 percent from a year ago to 60.5 million tons, Shanghai Statistics Bureau said yesterday.
Shanghai's throughput continued to show strong momentum after it overtook Singapore to become the busiest container port in August.
The port handled 2.64 million TEUs (20-foot equivalent units) of cargo boxes in November, a 19.7 percent rise from a year earlier.
