SHANGHAI Pudong International Airport handled 3.38 million air travelers last month, a 28.9 percent rise year-on-year, the airport operator, Shanghai International Airport Co, said yesterday.
The booming passenger figures were attributed to the World Expo visitor volume and the city's sizzling economy.
Domestic flight passenger numbers hit 2.12 million, a 33.1 percent growth from a year ago. International passenger numbers reached 1.31 million, up 28.9 percent year-on-year, the Shanghai-listed company said.
The cargo from the airport was 285,700 tons, a 9.3 percent growth from a year ago, the company said in a statement sent to the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
