TNT adds flights
GLOBAL express giant TNT yesterday added a Boeing 747 freighter to boost its capabilities between China and Europe as it seeks to tap the robust expansion in customer demand in the first half of this year.
The Netherlands-based company will offer six flights weekly between Shanghai and Liege, Belgium, from the previous four flights and five flights between Hong Kong and Liege from the previous three flights with the added aircraft.
"Our current freighters between China and Europe are operating at full capacity and cargo volume on the route rose faster than the 37.4 percent trade growth between China and the European Union in the first five months of this year," said Iman Stratenus, managing director of TNT China.
TNT now operates three B747 freighters between China and Europe, helping it connect more than 500 cities in China and more than 400 cities in Europe.
