14.9 million travelers visit Heaven on Earth in holidays

HANGZHOU received more than 14.9 million visitors during the week-long National Day holiday, a 15.9 percent rise than the same period last year.
West Lake and Xixi Wetland were the most popular scenic spots during the seven-day holiday. The West Lake received 3.85 million visitors and 283,700 visitors had a tour of Xixi Wetland.
During the period, the average occupancy rate of hotels in the city reached 76.4 percent, which saw a year-on-year increase of 2.2 percentage points.
The total tourism revenue reached 6.32 billion yuan (US$988 million), a 19.6 percent jump over the last National Day holiday period.
