2,000 robots
Hangzhou will add 2,000 industrial robots and set up 50 digital workshops, 300 intelligent manufacturing demonstration projects, 100 industrial Internet of Things demonstration projects and 10 intelligent factories by 2020, according to the government.
Currently robots are widely used in the logistics and beverage industries. Hangzhou plans to use more in health care, family services, education and entertainment.
Hangzhou-based Wahaha Group was listed to run one of the first intelligent manufacturing demonstration projects in China by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on July 21. The group not only uses robots in its beverage factory, but also makes robots for other enterprises that are used in production lines.
Other areas to be developed rapidly include new sensors, intelligent measuring instruments, industrial control, 3D printing, fully automatic and intelligent production lines.
