300 companies get their daily read free

HANGZHOU Foreign Trade and Economic Bureau started to give free copies of Shanghai Daily to a selection of 300 foreign-invested companies from the start of this year. The newspapers, aiming to bring the latest news from home and abroad to foreign companies in Hangzhou, is among the services local government offers to the foreign businesses.

Since the launch of the Hangzhou Special page in March 2009, Shanghai Daily started providing a window for the world to learn more about Hangzhou, including its business atmosphere. The bureau considers the information helpful for foreign businesses to learn more about the city.

After almost eight months of providing the newspaper, the bureau has received positive feedback from some of the 300 companies.

AMO Hangzhou Co Ltd subscribed to Shanghai Daily in July this year in addition to receiving the complimentary copy.

"Shanghai Daily has become an important source of information for our Japanese employees in the marketing department," said Shen Jiamei from Asahi Kasei Corporation (Hangzhou).
