Metro Line 1 and Line 7 will connect downtown with Xiaoshan International Airport, according to the city’s revised Metro construction plan.
Hangzhou will have 10 Metro lines in 2020 with a total length of 406.5 kilometers. Initially, authorities had planned for a Metro system of only five lines totaling 171 kilometers.
Railway lines to Fuyang and Lin’an will be built first, followed by rails to Haining and Keqiao. City planners are still working on rail routes to Tongxiang, Deqing, Anji and Zhuji.
Meanwhile, Hangzhou plans to build 700 kilometers of bus lanes and 15 BRT (bus rapid transit) lines, and expand local expressway network from 119 kilometers to 272 kilometers.
