XIAOSHAN International Airport's Terminal 3 and a second runway will open in the fourth quarter of this year. Both projects are part of the airport's phase two of construction.
Terminal 3 will be used for domestic flights and will be linked to Terminal 1. The two terminals will cover a total area of 370,000 square meters, airport officials said. Terminal 3 will also have more than 20 restaurants.
The airport's second runway is designed to meet the requirements of the Airbus A380 jumbo jet. The number of civilian flights at the airport is likely to soar after the runway opens.
Traffic tunnels on the east and west sides of the airport will open to vehicles tomorrow.
