Alibaba’s big data
Zhejiang University and Hangzhou Normal University are among the first Chinese colleges to become partners of Alibaba’s Cainiao Network and Ant Financial Services.
The partnership allows the parcel delivery and online payment services providers under Alibaba to better serve their students using big data technology.
Alibaba Group, China’s largest e-commerce company, said it wants this partnership to cover 1,000 universities within a year and leverage its existing online payment, data analysis and delivery networks to bring modern services to campuses.
Cainiao Network said it will expand its service network to cover 1,700 Chinese universities and colleges by the end of this year to improve parcel delivery service for online shoppers. It now has set up parcel pick-up points at 1,200 colleges nationwide and has served more than 15 million students.
