App points way to parking

HANGZHOU’S urban management authority has developed an app known as Tiexin Chengguan to provide users with useful local information about parking availability.
Hangzhou’s parking guidance and information system was first adopted by Shangcheng District in 2010. Geomagnetic sensors were installed at 2,800 parking places in the district to gather parking information. After analyzing this information with big data technology, the system can guide drivers to available parking spots.
Drivers can click a destination on the Tiexin Chengguan app to get detailed information, such as parking spot vacancies. Drivers can also get directions to available parking spots. This system now covers most districts of the city in order to improve the utilization of parking spaces.
