Art exhibition for the 'teacher of teachers'
CALLIGRAPHY, painting and seal carving by contemporary master Zhu Lesan are on exhibit in the Zhejiang Art Museum in Hangzhou.
Zhu (1902-1984) was a student of famed master Wu Changshuo, and he himself became known as a "teacher of teachers." Zhu devoted his life to teaching in schools in Shanghai and Hangzhou.
He taught many artists of modern China, including the first generation of postgraduate students majoring in Chinese flower and bird painting.
The exhibition of more than 150 works features varied works including calligraphy of his own poems.
His works reflect ordinary, daily life, and subjects are frequently farm crops and chickens.
